Due to the current environment, there is a growing need for understanding key elements when supporting research whereby underserved populations are directly impacted by study outcomes.

Please consider joining us for:

Seven Sessions of Research Lessons: Partnerships, Priorities and Practices that work best with  Minnesota’s Urban Native American Community

What:

A seven-part discussion series, focused on urban Native Americans, to promote better cultural awareness by clinicians and researchers.  We know that improved cultural understanding is key to maximizing the value and quality of ongoing studies and with ample funding available to conduct clinical research with Minnesota’s Native American communities, cross-cultural incongruities represent a barrier to participation by patients and other stakeholders.

Objectives:
  • Recognizing when and how fragmented relationships between local Native Community and healthcare organizations and providers contribute to poor clinical research practices and outcomes with/for the Native Community
  • Applying Best Practices for clinical research and partnership building for a successful study
  • Identify collaboration and funding opportunities for current and future Clinical Trials
When:

Thursdays from Noon-1pm, October 15 December 3  (skipping the week of November 26)
