Strategy Action Group seed funding is now available to support implementation of activities that improve the health and well-being of cancer survivors through increased or enhanced community partnerships and engagement. This seed money is intended to encourage members to work collaboratively. To be eligible, applicants must work together as a Strategy Action Group and include at least two (2) current MCA members.

Your application must fulfill one of the below activities:

1. Rural Cancer Survivor Wellness and Patient Navigation – Partner to implement an activity that combines the use of the Project ECHO telementoring platform and engaging patient navigators to enhance care for cancer survivors in rural This 2-pronged strategy has been piloted among NCCCP recipients.
2. Wellness and Social Support Among Cancer Survivors – Partner to increase support networks that offer group psychosocial support to help survivors express and manage disease-related emotions, increase social support, enhance relationships with family and physicians, and improve symptom.
3. Cancer Survivor Caregiver Wellness – Partner to implement evidence-based interventions to foster caregiver physical and mental health, social connectiveness, and mental support for financial.

Each application is limited to between $5,000 and $15,000. The intent for this funding is to get interventions started that can be sustained once this funding period ends. Applications are due on August 31, 2026, and award letters will be sent by September 30, 2026.

If SAG funds are awarded, the following documentation must be submitted: 

1. Quarterly interim-project reports due January 15, 2027, and April 15, 2027.
2. End-of-project report due by July 9, 2027 – final invoices received after this date cannot be reimbursed.
3. Invoices for project work. Submit these with the quarterly interim-project reports and end-of-project report. Each invoice must include supporting documentation for each expense such as receipts and verification of staff wage rates and hours worked.
