The Membership and Communications Committee at the Minnesota Cancer Alliance plays a pivotal role in advancing the mission of reducing the burden of cancer in Minnesota through collaboration and innovation. As a committee member, you will actively contribute to both fostering a diverse and engaged membership network and promoting the Alliance’s work to increase awareness and engagement among diverse stakeholders.

By participating in this committee, you will actively contribute to the shared vision of the Minnesota Cancer Alliance, playing a pivotal role in advancing cancer prevention, treatment, and support throughout the state.

The Membership and Communications Committee meets approximately once per month, utilizing various communication channels such as e-mail, conference calls, and, when possible, in-person meetings. Committee members serve for a term of one year, with the possibility of renewal.

Members:
  • Membership Recruitment: Identify potential new members who align with the Alliance’s vision and objectives and encourage their participation.
  • Membership Engagement: Develop strategies to maintain and enhance the engagement of current members, ensuring their active involvement in Alliance initiatives.
  • Outreach and Communication: Collaborate with the Communications Committee to design outreach materials, newsletters, and updates to inform and engage members.
  • Member Support: Provide assistance and resources to members, addressing their inquiries and ensuring they derive maximum value from their affiliation with the Alliance.
  • Content Creation: Develop and curate engaging content, including articles, blog posts, and social media updates, to highlight the Alliance’s initiatives and achievements.
  • Digital Platforms: Manage and maintain the Alliance’s website and social media channels, ensuring up-to-date and relevant information is shared regularly.
  • Public Relations: Foster relationships with media outlets and partners to secure media coverage and amplify the Alliance’s impact.
  • Brand Management: Ensure consistent use of the Alliance’s brand across all communication materials to reinforce a unified identity.
  • Member Engagement: Create communication strategies that enhance member engagement and promote member-driven activities, in collaboration with the Membership Committee.
