National Clinical Trials Day

Minnesota Cancer Alliance partners are coming together to celebrate National Clinical Trials Day on May 20

Partnering organizations have organized this campaign to raise awareness about the broad availability of enrollment sites across the state and the positive benefits to patients who enroll in the studies.

“Behind every clinical trial is a person, a family, and a future. My work in cancer research is driven by the responsibility to honor each one. I invite you to learn more about clinical trials, connect with the cancer doctors in your community, and see how your participation can bring hope and help rewrite the story of cancer. Every breakthrough begins with research—and with people. On May 20th, we raise visibility to honor those who participate, those who study, and the futures made possible through research.” Kerrie Huderle, Co-Chair MCA Clinical Trials Strategy Action Group

“It is essential for rural and minority patients to have access to these trials so they can be part of the progress achieved through clinical trials. More often than not, these populations are unaware that they can benefit from clinical trials in their areas and need to be better advised to make informed choices about their health.”  Caroline Blacketter, Co-Chair MCA Clinical Trials Strategy Action Group

Did you know? Clinical trials extend well beyond treatment trials. There are many other opportunities for individuals to participate in clinical trials along the cancer care spectrum. Opportunities include prevention clinical trials, supportive care clinical trials, cancer screening trials, treatment trials, and cancer care delivery trials.

You can find clinical trials in cancer centers across the state. There are approximately 48 sites across Minnesota that currently offer clinical trial enrollment.
