In Health Equity

The health division of Uber has gone live, and they are interested in connecting with clinics, hospitals, and patient coordinators wanting to provide transportation connections for patients.

The dashboard is unique as it addresses the barrier of transportation in health care, and provides a reliable ride patients may not have ability to schedule on their own, and transportation that can be sensitive to a patient’s medical needs.

  • HIPPA compliant dashboard
  • No cost to dashboard user
  • Dashboard is as easy to use as the app
  • Dashboard only requires patient name, number
  • If no mobile number, landline or provider number is OK
  • $1M insurance policy (normal Uber riders are not covered)
  • Communicates via text and not app
  • Patients are billed through provider
  • Medstar Health is partner
  • Some counties, depending on insurance, are covering cost
  • Drivers are trained/certified through “assist program” at Open Doors and trained to be sensitive to medical conditions and offering help in/out of vehicles and use of walkers and wheelchairs.
