Deborah Day LaxsonPolicy Committee Co-Chair

Deborah Day Laxson is the author of the award-winning book “The Gray Zone: When Life Support No Longer Supports Life” and founder of the Health Care Agent Literacy Project. Deborah is an advocate for clear communication between patients, their health care agent(s), loved ones, and medical professionals. Deborah is a national speaker on how to help one’s agent, loved ones, and medical professionals apply the guidelines established in the patient’s advance care plan. Based on her experiences as an agent, Deborah provides practical information for consideration when faced with implementing or making the patient’s decisions during a medical event when the patient is unable to speak. Deborah is currently Vice-Chair of the Minnesota Palliative Care Advisory Council.
