Fields of Study

The Masonic Cancer Center (MCC) recently debuted a new video series, “Fields of Study.” In this series, Max Huber, Marketing and Communications Manager, interviews various MCC researchers, healthcare providers, and staff, as they discuss how they are continuing the fight against cancer from their homes.

Recently, Max spoke with members of the Clinical Trials Office and the Minnesota Cancer Clinical Trials Network (MNCCTN), including Rana Leed, MNCCTN Regulatory Specialist, pictured here, as they celebrated Clinical Trials Day on May 20.

There are currently six episodes available on the MCC Facebook page.

Community Engagement During Stay at Home

While being in the community isn’t an option, the Community Outreach and Engagement team is still making their mark. Through partnering with local groups and restaurants, the team is able to share information on accessing cancer resources and educational options.

Community Engagement and Education Coordinator, Abdi Ahmed, partnered with Afro Deli to distribute meals to the elderly and high risk communities during Ramadan and included a Somali version of the resources. An English and Spanish version are also available.

Do you have ideas on how we could reach your community? Let us know!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

It seems appropriate to put a focus on our mental health during a pandemic, but it is something that we should be focusing on year round. The University of Minnesota has debuted the Top of Mind podcast discussing the importance of mental health. Learn more and listen to the first episode.
