In Breast, Cervical, & Colorectal Cancer Screening, Patient Navigation

The Cancer Health Equity Network (CHEN) is a network committed to reducing cancer disparities and advancing health equity through membership engagement in Minnesota.  CHEN members identified Objectives 2 and 6 of the Cancer Plan Minnesota 2025 as areas where CHEN can make a difference. In accordance with Object 6 (expand the cancer workforce to include more community health workers, patient navigators care coordinators) and Objective 2 (increase risk appropriate screening for breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer), CHEN has partnered with multiple organizations (TPT, Minnesota Department of Health, Masonic Cancer Center, and University of Minnesota) to create a 90 second video which highlights the role and positive impact of Community Health Workers (CHWs) in cancer outreach, education, and screening.

CHEN is excited to announce that the CHW video is finalized and available for distribution.  It can be viewed here.  This educational video illustrates how CHWs can positively impact cancer outcomes by illustrating the diverse skill set of CHWs and the many areas of community where CHWs can be present to make a difference.
