Anne Snowden, MPH, CPHQ, is director of performance measurement, validation and reporting at MN Community Measurement, a Minneapolis-based organization whose mission is to accelerate the improvement of health by publicly reporting health care information. She came to MNCM from the Department of Human Services where she worked to ensure the quality of several public health care programs, including Medicaid, Medicare, and Minnesota Senior Health Options. Prior to that she worked in quality improvement at Medica and as director of public education for the American Cancer Society. At MNCM, she staffs the Measurement and Reporting Committee and the Quality Audit Committee which contribute to MNCM’s reputation for establishing and implementing policies and procedures that ensure the collection of trustworthy data. She also leads development and publication of MNCM’s annual reports on health care quality, health care disparities, and the new Health Equity of Care Report. Passionate about addressing disparities in cancer control, she sees public reporting as a powerful strategy that can focus attention on common goals and inspire and incite action.
